Challenging The Unknown

Although Into the Unknown has not become the sensation of Let It Go, the central song to Frozen 2 has been the one which has stuck with me since seeing the film. It observes a familiar struggle most experience with maturity, a relationship with constant uncertainty which at the same time beckons us to charge ahead and to stay and do nothing.

The Unknown is a force we experience on a regular basis. It is Uncertainty, and by it’s very nature impossible to quantify or plan for accurately. However we imagine it to appear, there’s a very reasonable chance it will look completely different. The odds may be calculated with potential scenarios for a given set of options. The inherent difficulty of using math to “game” life is that life contains more variables, we cannot calculate the sheer volume of circumstances which effect the outcomes to our interactions.

Challenged by the Unknown, we can either choose to hide from it as long as possible or embrace the reality and plan accordingly. Running away isn’t nearly as useful as running towards in this case.

Uncertainty is as inevitable as our own demise and as constant as the dust on my window sill. The options are freely chosen, and if you decide to run away, it’s a practice you’ll continue through each and every moment of your life.
